check this beauty out
and this one
a dress like this would be adorable in royal purple
cute and simple/elegant
So that's just a few ideas. ....
dress color: "royal plum"
basically we are going for a vintage/classy look but something that will still look good with boots around the knee-high range. think mad men/1920s-1930s-1940s but not flapper. i haven't decided on the boots yet that is in keeping with the rustic/farm-y theme.
no cleavage/boob dresses ..... best length will be just above or at the knee (remember, the boots) so that just a bit of your tights or whatever are showing.
the dresses should be feminine but not super clingy
no super shiny satiny stuff.
just keep it CLASSY <3 <3 <3
you can do sleeveless or short sleeves.
if you can, don't spend more than $100! find something you'll wear again.
the yellows are for a button-down, long-sleeved cardigan to wear over the dress, any of the yellows are fine.
i hope this helps for now. i'll post more images as i find them.
when you find a dress, please come on here and post a picture of it!!
did you all order your hair feather? they're very cute.
KarBear, all your links after the first one go to the same place. =/
ReplyDeleteBut, I'm thinking of just going the first one anyway. I'll let you know. xoxo

It's also giving me crap and making me sign in with a blog I used like twice 3 yrs ago so ignore that... Also Karen, your wedding dress is gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteOk so here's what I found...

also if anyone knows how to make those to shorten links can you let me know how...
DeleteWhile we're on the subject of wedding-- Karen have you picked a weekend for the bridal shower/ bachlorette party cause we gotta get on that...
T, to answer your links question, you can use bit.ly (https://bitly.com/) - in the top right corner, it'll shorten any link you paste into there! Just FYI. :)
Deletexo
i haven't picked a weekend but i think early august might be best as a bunch of us are in education.
ReplyDeleteby the way if you click on the links it will bring you to the google images search page. just wait a bit longer and the specific link will crop up.
ReplyDeleteI think I am going to go with this cardigan: http://www.modcloth.com/shop/cardigans/charter-school-cardigan-in-honey
ReplyDelete(If that's okay with you.)
Please can we do the bridal shower the weekend before the wedding or something? Or around that time? I know it has to be what works best for everyone, most especially you. I just really might not be able to cross the country twice. I'll be able to best be helpful and contribute if I could devote the $700 plane trip towards your festivities. <3 I LOVE the first dress you posted, Karen! Did you go with it, Ari? And I love your cardigan! Cute and alterna school-girlish!
ReplyDeleteGirls, I just went to buy the dress on the site Karen shared, and it was SOLD OUT!!! Oh, nooo!!! BUT! Excellent news - I decided to do a bit of poking around, and because of my mad research skillz, I did manage to find it on Amazon! For MUCH cheaper, both for the dress itself & for shipping!! So here is the link I ended up at (and they DO have the "dark purple" option! http://www.amazon.com/Lindy-Bop-Classy-Vintage-Rockabilly/dp/B00AFC0L0W/ref=cm_cr_pr_sims_t
ReplyDeleteI ordered a M because I'd rather have it taken in if I need than have ordered too small. (Plus, I think I'm going to want to shorten the hem just a little bit, so I'll already be going to the tailor!)
xo
Ari I like that dress too... maybe I'll wait til you get yours to see it in person... also nice inter webs research skills you work those librarian skills hehe
ReplyDeleteKaren what are your thoughts on some of us in the same dress? Also any ideas on boots yet? The style of the boots may affect what dress is best...
That dress is so great! And *not* expensive! The model for the dress is kind of funny.
ReplyDeleteAri, you're amazing with research and technology!
I can kinda see feminine combat boots going with that dress, but ha, I don't know if that's what she's going for. ;) http://bit.ly/10KnrRJ
